Falcon disc brake conv.

I have a 1960 Falcon that will be my daughters first car. Currently it has Zero brakes on it. I figured if I have to find all the one year parts to put it back to stock, it might cost as close to a conversion. I do have NOS upper and lower control arms off a 70 mustang that I could use for the conversion, but that is it.
If you have any suggestions or recommendations please advise me.
Thanks for reading, Mark

there is a listing on e--- for a conversion that fits 6 cyl spindles and converts to 5 lug or they have a 4 lug set as mentioned above scarebird is the seller there are others I am doing this to a 64 ranchero 5 lug conversion and redrilling rear axles to 5 lug its a 6 cyl and I cant find 4 lug wheels I like I started buying parts but it will cost as much as a kit the only thing I will do is go to a duel master there is a link on this page for a conversion good luck and keep your progress posted

My shop installed a ScareBird setup on Bigcheese327's '62 Falcon. Went on pretty good. Had to whittle a little on the calipers for enough clearance at the spindle to allow the caliper to "float".

Thanks guys the first link from JeffB2 is the one that I was leaning towards and the reason I bought the upper and lower control arms. He states the conversion does not work on 1960-62 Falcon's with stock control arms. I do like the fact that his conversion is all Ford and trying to remember what parts came from where would be easier. Although the $95 starter kit is tempting I'm gonna do some homework as for finding the Nissan & Cavalier parts and cost new VS just finding a Granada in the junkyard anymore.

Big weighing factor is that the scarebird kit allows 4 lug wheels which would match the rears. I was gonna swap rear axle from a ranger to get the 5 lug rears. I never thought about re drilling the rear hubs for 5 lug, might be a good idea. Oh the decisions!

Nice article but unfortunately he describes this will not work on the 60-62's
Thank you for the time though. I'm also considering going back to stock drum with a dual master. I just hate to waste money on trial and error, yet this is my first born behind the wheel too. We have about 7mos. to get this going.

Then if you are staying drum here is something you might want to look into,Advance Auto now has ceramic lined brake shoes available ceramic will give you about 25% less fade and drum wear a lot of guys on my Ford forum have used the master cylinder in this video to upgrade when sticking with drums I think you will like the price too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXfXKlj2D1I

Thank you, very informative. I know I definitely need the dual master, I will definitely be buying one. If all else I will be ready for the disc upgrade and she can drive on drums to begin. After all they were good for most of us growing up and this is a small car with a whopping 144 CI engine. Im leaning towards gathering the parts for the Granada upgrade and hope to have all parts by the time she's ready to drive it. My wife has an early Bronco and when we bought it I put ALL new drum everything on. Her first test drive she missed our driveway expecting better stopping. I imediately installed disc brakes (still manual) and she loved the improvement. This is one of the reasons I don't want to buy all the drum parts.
Thank you very much for the shared info. Mark
