Factory paint in 1936

Nearly ready to spray some black paint on my 36' pickup. I'm curious about Ford's original paint in 1936, how smooth was it and especially how glossy was it?

It was called medium lustre black, and I think it would be about 75 per cent gloss. Original, unpolished samples I have seen, mostly under the stainless cap on hubcaps, do show some light 'orange peel', typical of the enamel type finish of the time. Old original black V8 fords looked great, dont look so good with a full gloss....I dont think the panels were good enough, and also the door , hood gaps etc are not so obvious as with the lighter colors. IMHO.
