F100 steering box question

My box in my '53 is worn out bad. About 5 inches of play at the wheel. I found a a guy that has a f-700 box that he says is very nice with no play. Will this fit? I know the ratio is different but honestly it would be easier to steer. His price is cheap so that is why I am considering it.

2 bolt holes will line up, the third you will have to drill

opps I didnt see the 53 part, on a 55 56 my statement is right53 naybe check mounting holes

One other option is rebuilding your original one, of course...
Ihave a great rebuilder by me in Long Island, New York --- they are
closed for the two weeks now through after the New Year's.....

I don't think a gear box out of an F700 will work in your F-100. I would suggest that you have your gear box rebuilt.. Steering is not something that should be fooled with.
