Does anyone know of a place to get steel fenders for a 49,I've found some for the newer F1 but not the early ones.I've also heard the new ones are thin,I'd rather have steel than fiberglass but I also dont want a Ford with fenders like a Kia...

No F-1 Uppers available yet, but you can get brand new lowers from Northern Classic Trucks in Sterling Heights, Mi. USA made, nice fit.Just keep looking. It took me 4 pairs of front fenders before i was happy with a set from Ca that i got on Craigslist. Good Luck! Ken

I second what Ken said, no on makes steel reproduction fenders. Tooling would be massive to make them correctly and with any production speed to make them worth doing and sell at a reasonable price. Too bad, I know there's a market out there. The fender bottom at Northern look nice but at $550 a pair a little pricey I think for most but if you think about it, a fender for a new Ford F-150 probably sells for around $300-400 and has half the metal and tooling to make.
