this one's off the mark does any one know what he difference between the 2011 and the 2012 f 150 4 door front suspension is im looking to put a plow on my 2011 and they say no one makes a unit for 2010/2011 although they make it for 2009/ 2012 i know it has electric assit steering also the dealer said i would need the 6.2 motor the only thing i could is the 6.2 is a beefier suspension i'm perplexed:confused: maybe i'll trade up to the 250

Here's my guess. The frame maybe a hydroformed unit and possibly even a tempered metal. All the existing holes were pressed thru, not drilled. By drilling or welding on this type of frame you can weaken it and Ford will not warrant it against cracking or breaking. Take a look at some of the later over the road big rigs and you will see they have stickers all over the frame "Do Not Drill or Weld", for the same reason. The 6.2 does have conventional power steering and possibly a different type material in the frame that can safely be drilled. Now I know you are thinking that they sell trailer hitches and you got to drill holes for them, but, like big rigs it doesn't seem to be as critical behind the rear axle as it is ahead of it. Just my 2 cents!

looked a little further on the web and found that they are worried about a power drop which may effect the electric steering snow plows are said to draw 50 amps so another battery and an isolater should slove the problem
