Extra Box on firewall

Any insight on this extra box on the inside of the firewall?

I can't do much as far as taking it apart or following the wires right now, I ripped the bicep on my arm moving an extra engine and am kinda limited in doing anywork for the next 4 months. I figured once I get out of my cast, I can open it up and start following the wires, but wanted to see if anyone had any insight on what it could be.

In the picture it's above the distributer, Mounted on left side of firewall.

Like I said, I can't do much now, but thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone seen this/these before-it's still 6v.

Could be one of Pop's McGueiver jobs on something.

I also vote for voltage regulator. Do you have more than one wire running from the firewall to the generator? With that voltage regulator there should be at least 2 wires from it to the generator.

The original Model A generator has only one wire running back to the firewall. At some time someone may have installed sealed beam headlights and added a later generator and regulator to supply the added amps needed to run sealed beams.

Without seeing more of the wires it is just guessing.

I will add another possibility --turn signal relay box, I have seen boxes of that style that contained relays to allow the brake lights to work for turn signals

Re: Just saw something odd

When i make a new post . The number of posts i have changes
Nothing odd there, but it goes back to my old posts and updates the number to the current new number? Never noticed that before.

It's a headlight relay - commonly used when sealed beams are added . There'll be wires running from the light switch on the steering box - and to the headlamps. This relay allows the original switch to handle the current of sealed beams.
