Going to put a external condenser on the 35' there was a certain condenser they used, can't f ind the number of it ,does anyone have it????

Don,

I disagree , the IH200 NAPA is often used , however its a little low on capacity for the helmet distributor. The helmet likes .28-.36 mfds to work perfect.

I would use the NAPA RR175 (chevy v8 unit) or a .36 Vertex May unit....

Wow Bubba - I using ih200 on the 11a u built for me - what symptom would or remedy I could expect if I switch or not

How about a Echlin IH201 from NAPA? Fit right in the hole like gen-U-wine on sale for a day or so.

How about a IH 201 condenser.?

I used a old model A dist turned with a small variable speed heater motor for a show and tell.to show the firing of of plugs and reversing the coil voltage and monitoring the plug voltage( picked up a 40 k voltage Meter at Hershey a couple yrs ago) also the current draw of coil.Used several old capacitors to subustute to see what happens,,around .33 mfd worked the best for hi voltage.lower the mfd the voltage dropped,, all at same rpm.heating the cap.made a big drop in voltage also hi rpm caused voltage to dec.,don't know how scientific all this is but heat and cap do make a diff.Iithink I'll go for the Napa
RR175. The Vertex are a little pricy I think

Bubba, I think someone has hijacked your Phone #. When I dial it I get offers to free garbage and no link to you...you better check it out...slim

That's his phone, just not him! Bubba is not responding to phone calls, need to PM him on the barn.

Pretty annoying. I tried to send him an email using the email addy shown on his website and it comes back "undeliverable". Seems like he's been hacked.

Condenser question - Does it matter with the NAPA IH200 or the RR175 condensers if the system is 6 volt or 12 volt? I think not but I want to be sure.

Thanks Bubba - Based on what you posted above, I plan on installing a remote RR175 on my 1934 dome-style coil tomorrow.

Bubba,
From this is it correct to infer that different Ford distributors work best with condensors of different values?
What do you recommend for the various distributor styles?
Helmet- RR175
Crab-?
others-?
