I am assembling a bunch of parts, A chassis, old tattered cabrio body,

Thomas head, zepher downdraft with a 94 carb. fenderless, 16 whls and
E and J headlights or similar.
trying to make a 40s style hotrod, without any damage.
My question is, what are my exhaust alternatives for loud and throaty?

I am asking here, as I am not building a true hotrod. Just a bunch of leftover parts that bolt together. will never go over 45mph.

Header and straight pipe. Or original manifold and remove the baffles in the muffler. Or original manifold and stock muffler with cutout.

16 inch glasspack blank.Weld your own size ends to fit. They have a 2-1/2 ID straight through configuration with the metal mesh and glass around it.Makes kind of a mellowed straight pipe.

I had a muffler shop bend and weld up an exhaust, glass pack, & tailpipe with an internal bushing at the flange to fit inside the manifold when installed. No leaks, unnatural sound out the tail. It worked great but sounded like a hot rod Toyota, so I ended up buying an Aries and now have a good quiet Model A Ford sound!
