Exhaust y pipe

I am looking to replace the exhaust on my 1939 Tudor Deluxe. It has an 8BA moto. Is there a difference in the y pipe that came with my car and the one that was on it when I bought it? I am sure there were differences from the original and the 8BA.
Thank you for the help

I think it would depend on which exhaust manifolds are being used. All flatheads have the exhaust ports in exactly the same places, so all flathead manifolds will bolt on to the engine. If the '39 exhaust manifolds were used, all the stock exhaust components should fit fine. If something else was used (8BA manifolds, headers, or some other year manifolds), most likely the rest of the system is custom made. I'd bet the stock '39 manifolds were used, so the "Y" pipe should fit.

Wick. When I first installed an 8BA in my 40 coupe I used the 1940 exhaust manifolds and the 1940 y-pipe. As I recall it was not easy to maneuver the Y pipe thru the frame on the pass. side.

I tried to route the existing y pipe (what's left of it) and it looks to be rather difficult. It was cut and had a clamp holding it together. We shall see.

If you have access to a lift or can safely raise the car high enough, it is possible to install it in one piece.
