exhaust temp question

Hello fellas, I have a question about exhaust temperature. Would anyone know why my 8BA exhaust temp is about 100 degrees hotter on the front exhaust outlets than the rear? The engine runs fine, and never over heats. I point the thermo gun on the heads and they are steady at 160 to 180 degrees on all cylinders, I point the gun on the exhaust manifold outlet and the front cylinders are 400 degrees the rear outlet runs at about 200…….why such a difference? Anything to worry about? the manifolds are not stock, I have headers on the engine…..
Thank you

Kendall I suspect your not getting a good reading on the rear temp. You have to be careful useing the laser thermometer. If you hold the gun further away, at a differant angle or not hitting the pipe straight on you will get differant readings. Deflecting off the radius of the pipe will read differant then dead center, colors like black, silver or rust can all read differant. 200 degrees is to much differance. The more you use the gun the more you will get used to it. I always hit the trigger 3 or 4 times on a spot and within an inch and a half area you will several reading so you have to discount some of them. G.M.
