Exhaust Rattle

At the risk of a visit from the EPA police, I have used the old woven asbestos webbing we use to use for the manifold/ muffler connection to make a flexible gasket between the tail pipe and the frame bracket.

I did do this, generic exhaust pipe hanger from O'Reilly's. Bent it up and over just like the picture, Some of the best Model A money I've spent! $3.50 works great.
Oh Oh! Glad I haven't screwed down the floorboards yet. I'll make this change. Thanks!

Anything I can do to stop a little noise or vibration on my coupe just makes the driving experience a lot better! I read about the "smooth as silk" engines and "absolutely no clutch chatter" cars and think... all I can do is make mine as good as I can. And the scary part is the ones that have spent thousands and the engine still vibrates.

I have had an exhaust rattle that I tried to fix a couple times. I got rubber isolator and an early model a clamp and it has rattled in two years.

The way I understand it is this;
If you have the proper clamp, bolt, nut, cotter pin, exhaust pipe, install the bolt properly... your good!
