When mounting the exhaust system to the exhaust manifold and using the appropriate muffler clamps, is it common to
use some kind of high temp sealant to prevent leaks or is it not necessary.
Thanks for answering my question.
personally i use the little insert pipe with no sealer or gasket. make sure your manifold flange clamp is on right it has a top and a bottom the larger side being the top. i once tried to use those little donut gaskets and ended up throwing it as far as i could
A help to me in order to get a good fitup of the 2 piece clamp to the manifold is to use a small ball pean hammer to tap the assembled clamp to get it properly in place.
I usually do like Mitch in post #2 . I never had any luck with the little donut seals .. If the tail pipe clamp is installed incorrectly or over tightened it will throw off the alignment at the manifold
