Eroded Zenith Casting

I have two Zenith carb lower castings that have the same defect in the separation between the hole that contains the secondary well and the hole for the carb bolt that holds the two castings together. Both carb bottoms have the two holes very close together. Little or no "meat" separates the two. Erosion or just very porous casting has compromised the seperation of the two holes above the brass of the secondary well. If filled with liquid, one would leak into the other.
Two questions. 1). Will the "defect" make any difference in the performance of the carbs? and 2). If the answer is yes, how can I plug up the swiss cheesey cast iron?

One word DEVCON google it I have been using it for more than 40 years on similar problems.

(Don't worry be happy)
