Engine won't start

We had the engine running for a while and everything seemed great. Then, the engine just died like it ran out of gas...but I know it has gas. We pulled a plug to check for spark and couldn't see any. Now the engine won't start. We have plenty of gas to the carb. Any ideas?

No spark at plugs check points coil condenser, The other day my car stalled turned out the ground screw on the condenser came loose, I tightened screw and was back on the road but its not always that simple

Does it crank over? remove distributor cap. with key on, open points to see if you have spark at the points? All connections good and tight.

My friend was out driving his "A" and it started backfiring and shut down. He removed the dist. plate and a wire was shorted on the under side, repaired it and was on his way, love these Model "A"

Jim:)

Remove distributor cap and rotor, have the points in the closed position on the cam, turn the key on,using a screwdriver open the points should see a spark at the points between the two contacts of the point and point block. see #15.Do you have a Les Andrews model a mechanics Handbook?

I would check and see if the points are opening and closeing. I would check the contact surface of the points for oxidation or if the contacts are blue from overheating. File and set the points gap. I set mine at .022. Hopefully you are not running the so called modern points. Usually the problem will be either the points or condenser when they act this way.

My buddies car just done the same thing two days ago. His car had a fuse installed. It was blown. He replaced it an it started back up. Even though the fuse was blown it would still crank but not start. Just a thought
