Engine/trans swap Q

Got a '65 Galaxie that had a 289/cruise-o-matic - they're gone. The new engine is a '69 351W with an FMX. Are there any issues to sticking the later drive train in? I figure the original engine mounts will be OK, but I do not know about whether the trans shift linkage and the trans mount on the FMX are the same as the CoM or not. I'm a Mopar guy, not a Ford guy, and this is my son's car, so any help would be great!

Thanks for the help, in advance!

The 289 mounts will bolt the 351 in and the FMX will be similar to a COM that was behind a 352 or 390 in 65,I think the small block COM was a C-4 but they called all automatics a COM at that time. Ford was good for using diiferent shift arms in the trans for different applications so to get the 65 linkage to work with the FMX you might need to find the shift arm from a big block COM,I think you will need some big block and small block linkage parts to make the linkage hook up and cant remember just what as my 390 automatic 65 wagon is in the garage I rent and not at the house and cant just go out and look at it and the 65 I have here at the house has a manual trans.
