Engine Temperature Sensor Question

Ok...I only own a six cylinder 223 Ford in a '56 Mainline but anyway thought sombody else out there might know an answer to my question which is as follows: the engine temperature sensor for this year of engine has two tabs to connect wires to....but....I only have one wire coming from dash and see no other wire to hook up to other tab. Both tabs are connected on the sensor. Nobody seems to know anything about Ford 6 cylinder engines that I can find. My wiring diagram only shows one wire connecting to the sensor but ????? Also, who has a line on a split manifold for this engine (6 cylinder....1956 era)? Color me frustrated about Fords right now.....
Thanks

Go to the HAMB, and near the top there is a community tab. Click on that and go to the 52-56 Ford section, and ask the question there. A few guys there running 6cyl.

In 56, all the Fords used the two post sender. You use just one post, the other is not used. I have a 56 and that is the factory setup.

I am surprised that the owner of a 56 sedan did not know the answer.
