engine tear down

You said the middle and rear bearings "spun" that term usually refers to an insert bearing. Do you have inserts instead of the original babbit? If you have spun inserts that will complicate the repair.
 
spun was wrong word. the Babbit came loos in a couple places. we hound the oil tubs to the rear and the middle to be almost clogged closed with sludge. got the block striped and cleaned today its not bad everything looks pretty good. nothing major that you can feel or see. will start the research tomorrow for machine shops that specialize in model A.

I don't know if there are any good babbit shops in your area, but you can't go wrong taking it up to Iowa, and have Herm do the babbit.
