Wow Mike! Way to go there buddy! That is the one im curious about.im thinking even if i do not do an od it would be good(if it works) to prevent early bearing wear or the dreaded broken crank....????
Makes sense. Actually after watching farmallcub49 straighten my 3 dip pan yesterday I think they can even be affected. If the pan didn't have the removable bottom they'd probably be a lot less likely to twist. They use them in the 26-7s due to the four dip pans not being strong enough like the three dippers. At least that is what I have heard.
That little story sure made me smile. It reminds me of a lot of the vehicles I've owned. Had a '67 impala SS. It had a hole in the piston. I had to drive it one winter night at about 20 degrees below 0 for 175 miles. It let me know when to change oil because it would develop a knock and blow the oil breather off. I could always here it hit the hood. Then I'd get out with a 2 gallon can of oil and dump it in the engine. Made it home, honed the cylinder and put in a new piston. It would have been hard to scrap a 400 hp 327 cu in engine. My old T speedster always marked its territory also...when it quit...it was out of oil.it was SO wore out it would spit oil out of the breather and leave oil spots on the driver..until i rerung it...after...not much better....i sure miss that ol gal though...good times...
