what is the best way to bolt an engine to a stand for storage and if anyone has a plan for a better engine stand could you please share. I need it to store a spare engine,I will put wheels on it for portability..thanks bobbycoke
I used to find beat up shopping carts in the woods, cut the basket off, add 2 plates with a hole to bolt to the flywheel housing, and weld a short piece of pipe in for the front yoke to set on, ---the wheels are not always the best, some flatspot if they set in one place too long.

Be careful of trying to cut or drill bed rails. I ripped the teeth out of a brand new band saw in about 10 seconds trying to say a bed frame. I didn't think about them being hardened.
The trouble with the junk high carbon steel is it's hard on saw blades and drill bits. It also can be harder to weld. I did have to stick weld them but no other problems (I'm a gas welder at heart). The casters hold a piece of melamine board in the bottom to hold loose parts.
