engine stalls when step on accelerator

I doubt it is the fuel pump because the carburator should be full of gas when you step on the accelerator. The stock carburetor doesn't have an accelerator pump so it is not that. My guess is that it is in the carburetor, can you borrow another one you know works? By the way you should add your general location to your profile.

Charlie, you are a genius!
I swapped out my carb for another Stromberg I have and the can ran great.
Thanks so much.
I will send my problem carb to uncle max for a rebuild.

You'll get one of these from Max. Runs perfect out of the box

IS it me OR I would like to see JUST how a Stromberg 97 is working on a 33 4cyl (Model B) from what should be an "updraft" single barrel carburetor, right?

I installed a new downdraft intake with the stromberg on top. This supposedly gave me 10 % more power? I could always go back to the updaft and the zenith carb if I have to.
