'smokes. it really is like a flathead engine - just smaller.

interesting bellhousing (?) and i think i'm looking at an engine with stainless steel - see the problem - cylinder sides. but there has to be better wordsmithing of which i am fully ignorant.

like Henry used to tell me "you'll catch on if you live long enough."

It's a way of getting google to only give results from the barn.

I have a nice '40 V8-60 and trans, cast iron sides not the tin sides. The guy that had it said it was running, and he just took it a part to inspect it, why? But I actually believed the guy, seemed like a very nice guy. I was at a small swap meet and hadn't bought "anything" else and it bugs me to go home empty handed, so I decided to buy the V8-60 for $400.00. What interested me the most was it was all there including the trans. generator, carb, all the original bolts, everything. I don't see any cracks or much wear. That's what made me think the guy that had it might have been telling the truth about it. I thought I'd just pressure test the block and if it passes put it back together with the box of parts it came with and maybe put some speed equipment on it and see if it runs and just put it on a display stand. I have absolutely no use for it, but V8-60s are just so damn cute.
