Is it possible to remove a V8 with a overdrive trans It is a 53. I am thinking it might be easier to install when I finish working on the engine. Thanks
You should be able to. A friend of mine has this angle thing that mounts to the carb bolts to lift the engine and it is great for doing a engine change with the trans attached.
Should not be a problem. I removed and reinstalled mine with the Fordomatic still on.
Just remember to put something over the tailshaft because transmission fluid will pour out when you tilt the assembly to remove it.
