Engine question

1941 motor bored to 3 3/16; 3 3/4 stroke; 338 cam lift; can I mill the stock heads enough to get a 8.5 to 1 CR? Thanks in advance, Craig.

Your cr ratio now is probably around 6.75 - 7 right now. Doubt you can remove enough to get to 8.5. Need to do some serious measuring of piston/valve to head clearance to see how much you can remove safely. Shoot for around .050 over the piston. Maybe a little more over the valve. Might be able to sneak out 8:1.
