Where can one purchase the best and most authentic set of stamps for putting new numbers on a block. Any idea as to the cost of the set?

Do you belong to a local model A club? Our club in the Twin Cities has an authentic set of stamps any member can checkout and use. The stamps look like they are as old as the model A's! You might check into a local club as many have tools and items members can borrow and use. This is especially nice for items you only need to use once or twice, like engine stamps.

What you are lloking for is available through McMaster.com web sight. They have the number stamps, letter stamps, and the star. Order right from them.

Bob and Bob, Thank you very much for the input. Comments I have received indicate that the 1/4" number set, the 1/4" A and star from McMaster-Carr will cover Model A's thru March 31st of 1931 manufacture. After that date Ford went to a funny looking 6/9 that is not available from McMaster-Carr. Somewhat off the "A" subject but still early Ford is in the latest Hot Rod Magazine on 32 frames, some really good information there.
