Engine loses power under a load

Dirt in the suction tube in the tank will cause the fuel pump to suck air down from the top of the fuel in the tank, more so the lower the fuel is in the tank. As I said before run it from a gallon can and see what happens. G.M.

Ok heres what I did took out gas tank cleaned the inside with small peebles attached gas tank to a small rotating cement mixer.brite metel inside now , going to seal it with POR 15 gas tank sealent , The next thing I did was took the rad and moved it closer to the fan, took off the fan extrension of the generator so I do this. Put the old pully back on. Neext put an inline filter in Gas tank then on Gas line, next thisgs to do is a new diapram, Pump rod is OK. I put an NOS helmet style coil in took out old coil and replaced the condenser, all wirs are OK, cleaned plugs set new timing everything is Top dead center, After that I'll blow out the carb and start her up with fresh High Grad gas with a little MMO in it. This is FUN stuff. Cheers BIG MIKE

You really shouldn't have any air bubbles in the bowl. If you do your sucking air. If your tank is slightly plugged and the pump being strong it will suck air. Check you flexiable lines and clean out your tank.

Sounds like your finially on the right track. The NOS coil will brake down when it gets hot and won't start for 20 minutes. Send it to Skip and have it rebuilt and your coil problems will be done. Also install an IH-200 condenser and eliminate that problem. Be careful of the rubber hoses you use with the filter and pump. Ask Napa about the new fuel hose that is ALMOST available. G.M.

GM the old coil never got hot, I just replaced it with another NOS one, both are the helmet style, I have new hose that I put in today, and going to blow out carb tuesday with my air compressor. I would like sometime to get new water pumps. I also found out today while checking my brakes that the left side brake pads broke of it's rivits, I think it was to much strees locking the left drum to do a skid turn, anywho that well need sum attention. if you notice my carrier pic in my profile the steep hill behind the carrier is what did me in, I even riped down the farmers electric cow fence. Cheers Mike

Mike if you have a stock old Ford coil, used or NOS it doesn't make any differance it would be a rare one that didn't act up when it gets hot. Most new hose won't work long with this new gas. I mentioned Nappa was comming out with one they "think" will work. Run plenty of MMO in the gas tank to clean the fuel components and keep the valves from sticking. G.M.
