Engine knock

I'm a newbie. Recently purchased 1929 cabriolet. Runs well but when I get up to higher speeds begin to get knock. Can't tell for sure where's it's coming from. It's not there at lower speeds or when idling. If the knock is present and I advance the spark it goes away even at high speeds. Have retimed and didn't help. Any ideas? Could it be the timing gear? I would think if it was a bearing it would be present all the time even when idling. Thanks

Just got a motor in the shop today with the same symptoms, a knock at high speeds but none at idle. Hope yours fairs better than this one, it has no babbitt in the center main. Looks like it was not tinned correctly. All the babbitt gone except for what was in the oil tube from the valve chamber.
