Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help.
I have a (what I think is) an April 1925 engine. The oil pan is a 4 dipper but there are no bosses on the rear of the motor for the transmission case.
The bosses were added feb '25 and new oil pan mid '24 according to sources.

Can anybody shed any light on this? Does the engine number look genuine factory stamped? (attached pic) Or is it most likely an earlier block with number added later?

Any help well received. Thanks, Andy

From Model T Ford Encyclopedia by Bruce McCaulley:
"casting again modified to have boss at rear to mate with new transmission cover which bolted to the cylinder beginning July 27, 1925 with S/N 12,218,729."
This source makes your engine to be a standard 1925 style.
