Engine cross member

Does anyone have a picture of the cross member that the front engine mount goes through. I need to know the size of the hole for the front motor mount. Someone has welded a washer on mine.

Here’s a pic of the crossmember on my ‘29 sport coupe.

The front mount needs to be able to move a bit or it can be overstressed enough to crack the crossmember or break the yoke. Ford changed the crossmember several times before they settled on the final configuration. When the first yoke type mount was developed, they used a small hole for the center stud. They then came out with a service bulletin to enlarge the hole there more. They tried a brass hat bushing to seat into the hole and arrest movement there but this started the cracking and breakage on rough roads so they did away with the brass bushing and substituted a large area washer in its place. This turned out to be the most reliable set up yet even though it wasn't a really good way to handle the situation. It allowed movement but would limit the movement from getting too excessive.

The hole was changed from 3/4" to 7/8" in December of 1928 so that is the final size.
