Thinking about purchasing an enclosed trailer for hauling Model A. What works well. Like to keep it as small and light as possible would be using Chevy 1500 to haul.
I agree. A few feet more inside is not that much more money. You will be happier with a trailer that has at least a 20' box as mentioned above, you will have ample space for additional items besides the car you're hauling.
Overlooked - but necessary consideration
Find the manufacturer maximum tow rating
for the vehicle you plan to pull the trailer with.
Determine the curb weight of the vehicle(s)
you plan to transport.
Deduct that from the maximum tow rating.
Take what is left and multiply by 80%.
That is the empty curb weight of a trailer
you can safely tow.
I am on the road over 300 days a year towing.
At least 50% of the trailers I see being hauled
by tow vehicles rated one ton or less are overloaded
and/or the tow vehicle is under rated for the
weight of the trailer being towed.
This happened this morning just north of Phoenix.
