Some people frown on using a trailer ….but it’s all in the decision of where you are going, when and what occasion. It also depends on your needs at that time. I do both…..and after logging 150,000 plus miles on driving my car (s), I could not give a hoot what others think….I have nothing to prove…..been there, done most of it. I have a collection of cars and trailers, from a 40' fifth wheel….hotel in the front, car in the back….it did wonders to keep the wife happy, where she can relax at her pace, a flat bed for picking up those wanted project cars……..helping stranded friends……. and even a smaller 16 x 7 enclosed low rider motorcycle trailer…my little channeled coupe fits nice and snug in it. Getting back to your question, I would recommend a fairly standard 24’ enclosed trailer, preferable 8 ½’ wide….I heard some states do not allow the extra 6” width….but, in 20+ years, I never had a problem wherever I traveled. It also depends on your tow vehicle and budget….I always order an RV side door with window and screen. Now, also picture an awning….bring some folding chairs, invite friends for a beer, and life gets better all the time. It all depends on what you want to do……and yes, moving stuff is a snap when you are so equipped.
