embarassing question

Thanks for everyones input....let's all let bygones be bygones. Great bunch of guys on here that have been a big part of my model a life for the last 4 years. Always providing me and others with guidance and support in our hobby....I don't excpect that will change. As zzlegend says lets learn from it, move on and go vote! No hard feelings.

Hell, even Y-blockhead did too when he questions the OP comment by saying "Seriously:rolleyes::rolleyes:".

Oh, please... I wasn't responding to the OP. I was responding to the comment by bambooboy about books being a thing of the past. I've learned a lot about A's by thumbing thru catalogs and books while in the "reading room".

... in the year 2014 books to me are a thing of the past...

Seriously??:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes, I read your remarks and took same , as you just stated. Same OLD stirring of turd by the same person involved in ALL of the drama here...now and in past. Just look for yourself at past threads where drama and jumping newbies is involved ! Then mixed in , is comments by others stating 'this is why they drop out of this forum and do not participate !! NOT first time nor last time , if something isn't done to enforce Ryan's rules.
Twisting others words is childish form of bullying behavior and there are several examples of that here also. One thing that is true, I / WE are not moderators...and, IMO, you who bully new members are dam luck at that !!

Hey Rob,
That's the spirit :) ! We're headed out to do just that right now.
Besides voting, I hope that you continue to actively participate in this FREE forum that is so graciously provided by Ryan !!! Let us know how your Model A repair is progressing .

Well, I don't know shite about Model As and I plan to buy as many books about the care and maintenance of Model A Fords as I can but unfortunately, I never learned to read and have gone blind trying, so I will come here from time to time to time to get the proper guidance I desire. Lot's of pictures will help............this old soldier, so humor me. I'm deaf and dumb in both eyes. :D:D

I bought the books way before I bought my PU. Sure, you can get answers here, but there's nothing like being able to open the book and get the answer when you need it "right now".
Going out on a limb here but I would say the right mix of the 2 resources would be the formula. Books can be informative but also not always as detailed as they could be and maybe difficult to understand sometimes. That's where the barn comes in to help interpret and supplement the text with first hand knowledge from A-ers who've done the work and experienced some of the anomalies not covered in handbooks and manuals.

Rob it takes a real man to overlook the children on this site. Hope you receive the information you originally wanted.

Don't get me wrong, while I do have the books for "ready reference" I value the advice I have received here on "The Barn" equally as well. Most importantly, things not covered in the books or are "incorrect" in the books have been covered here very well.

Carl, I agree it's good to have a number of opinions on performing a repair on a Model A. Some guys just have found what amounts to be an easy solution for some jobs, so obvious no one else saw it!

And, as we see in The Restorer, sometimes people write up articles for repairs and tips that turn out to have wrong information.
