Electronic Ignition

Does an electronic ignition distributor require radio supression spark plug wire? FS Ignition has two distributors. One looks like a modern distributor using modern spark plug wire for which they also sell radio suppression wire. The other is the "Zipper" which looks like an original and uses the original type bronze leads. Since the guts are electronic I question the need for radio suppression for their modern type. Reading about modern electronic ignition (nothing to do with Model A's or FS) it appears radio suppression is necessary. Is this so and what supposedly will happen if solid copper spark plug wire was used?

I have an FS ignition system in my car with a stock distributor (except for the electronic ignition). I have used both the solid copper wire and the radio suppression wire at one time or another and both worked fine. No difference - at least in my car.

it doesnt matter. Both move electricity esentially. The only reason they use the modern wires on the modern looking distributor is because they have to with the cap design. We have both set ups and they work great. Highly Highly Highly recomend electronics. You will see an increase in performance & throttle response. Would never go back to points & condensor.

We have been running the FS Zipper using the original leads in the sedan project car and have not had a problem with the stereo. This has been operating for about three years. We did just change to a modern style distributor cap and wires but this was because we installed a different head and wanted to use modern spark plugs and the original style leads will not work. This was just done a couple of months ago and we also installed a different stereo but everything is still working fine.
