My 28 sport coupe has an interesting short that i cant figure out. If I turn on the headlights with the car running it kills the engine. It has a new wiring harness and for the life of me I cant figure this one out. Is there inathing in the steering column that can case this? the Horn also quit working whe this problem started. I would appreciate any suggestions!

I would two things if you already haven't.
First, disconnect the wiring at the horn.
See if the car will remain running when turning on the lights.
Second, if not disconnect one of the headlights and then try again.
I would suspect the problem is in the headlight conncections.
Good luck.

Did you add a fuse? And does the fuse blow? A blown fuse will kill power to the coil.
Your horn should be OK, because it works until the lights are turned on. I also would check the headlights for a short. I fixed some non-working lights 2 weeks ago. The screw on the rear of the bucket was too long and shorting out the bulb socket.

Repro sockets on the bottom of the buckets are also another source of trouble. The terminals fit so loosely that they short to each other or to ground.

I can. The switch is installed incorrectly and shorting out. Several of the repro harnesses out there are absolute junk!!
