My brother sold his '29 last week and new owner said it quit running. He and I went there tonight to get her running and had a little bit of trouble.
We checked the terminal box and got the horn and lights to work. (The owner said they were working while Bro. talked him thru some early troubleshooting, but they weren't when we arrived.) Took the instrument cover loose and found 6.45V at the switch and 0 on the dist. side of the switch.
Turned switch on and have .55V on hot side and dizzy side, not the original 6.45V. Whats going on?
I'll try to find the color wire diagram on this site, it may help.
Hope one of you can shed some light on this.
We tried a known good coil and upper dizzy plate before we saw the voltage discrepancy at the switch.
The ammeter checks good and had over 6V there and the map light.
Where and why are we loosing proper voltage at the switch.
Thanks. Russell.
