Electric fuel pump questions

Ggmac....I am going to try your suggestion to try to create some pressure with air ...will report back

I will use my compressor to blow more air into the line going to the tank to see if that helps...Will report back

With it all hooked back up, line out of pump into a pan, pump on, seal off the gas filler and blow compressor air in there( flat rubber with small hole). If you can get to the rollover vented line plug it. This should force enough gas up to the pump to get it started. Also as said, put more gas in it, this will raise the level in the pick up tube.
We work on lots of big rigs that drivers run out of fuel. Some Have no primer pumps and this is one of the only ways to get them started.

HOLY COW...COW A BUNGA....I NOW HAVE FUEL PUMPING TO MY CARB.
GgMac and RalphM......I did as you said using my compressor to blow air into the tank with the electric fuel pump turned on and the fuel started to flow.....THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO MY EDUCATION.
Now my next project is to get this engine running aftrer sitting 10 years.
Done for today...time to go for a walk and calm down :)

I, for one, think the compress air is a bad idea and would advise against it.

Update: well, guess that proves me wrong! :)

I finally have gas to my carb...what it took to get the gas flowing is what was suggested by several people...USE THE COMPRESSOR TO BLOW GAS INTO THE TANK with the electric fuel pump on...gas came up immediately...thank you to everyone who helped educate me in this indeavor....
Now I have to start a car that has been sitting 10 years...I have made all the preperation that I can think of...wish me luck...
