I holpe everyone takes this great opportunity to vote and that they get to the voting place in their Model A. A good day to roll out our Model A Fords.

I always take the model A to the polling place, which in this town is the fire garage and police station.

We vote by mail in Oregon, and I sent my ballot in a week ago. The vote by mail system works very here, though I admit, I miss the ceremony of going to the polls.

Nothing says America like a model A. I'm drivin mine all day next Tuesday ! Republican style!!!!!!!

Clem,

If I may hijack your thread, tell us about the trains at the Whitehouse this Christmas. Are you working on them again? When do they go up? When is a good time to visit? And exactly where are they, on the elipse?

Strange?

Only saw two (2) small Presidential bumper stickers later last month, & both were pasted on the backs of two (2) separate, fairly new SUV's -- not on the rear bumpers.

Both SUV's were in separate supermarket parking lots & each of the two (2) stickers were for different Presidential candidates.

Guess it was not too funny for the two (2) vehicle owners -- noticed both tailgates had been severly rear ended.

Started thinking -- maybe we should be more careful with any type of controversial election stickers these days -- our Model A's appear to be more costly & time consuming to repair than modern vehicles.

I have heard from local campaign people of both parties that, basically, bumper stickers and lawn signs don't vote. Use in general is down. I have a commercial sticker from my favorite pizza parlor in the back window of my coupe, and sometimes I have some kind of socio-political comment on one of my cars, but mostly I think it's pretty ineffective. In 1982 a friend and I drove a '29 coupe from Portland to Bozeman, MT., and back with "Recall James Watt" in big letters painted on the car's doors. The only reaction we got was applause on the streets of Bozeman. I don't think it had any real influence on anybody, though. :p

If you like Model A Fords and guns, this would be a good weekend to stock up on ammo and guns. They could be hard to get in the future like NOS parts.

Just a friendly reminder, depending on one's past experiences in one's particular District:

With crowd numbers possibly far exceeding predictions, & judging from the "actual", unusual extremely long local absentee lines experienced week before last, arriving early more than likely can shorten one's standing time & waiting time caused by possible long lines.

Then one can use the entire rest of the day as Model A time!

Mixed emotions about election day, I got Pat's absentee ballot in just before she made her glorious trip to Heaven on her birthday in June, her vote COUNTED! Bill W. & Dog (Maybe I'll sign up the Dog, as he's well read, so he can vote!)

Tom,

Agree, not a problem; however, just be extremely careful.

Remember that with our recent court decisions, if a dog goes to vote in one's district, just asking the dog for a voter I.D. could cause one to wind up in an expensive law suit.

It would be wonderful to have a few "Common Sense" Model A guys in Congress to give a little guidance.

I will be taking my 92 year old father to the polls which will in all likely hood be his last vote. This decorated veteran of both Europe and the Pacific theatres of war will not be detered in casting this vote. I cannot think of a more patriotic duty than taking him for this vote. I only wish his health allowed me to use the "A".

Whatever side of this fence that you stand on don't let the rhetoric and personalities prevent you from excercising this most precious of our rights.

Well said TinCup, our vote is the only voice we have in government! Remember if you don't vote you not allowed to gripe!

Well , after 6 days without power [no heat, nothing] and a 50 foot tree missing my home by 3 inches ,, i feel VERY LUCKY compared to the lower part of N.Y.... drove the Model "A" to a safe place,,,,Never missed voting since my first time voting { Nixon.}. So vote often .....l.o.l.

W. Michael: per your question about the trains at the National Christmas Tree: http://www.nctrr.com/index.html is the info on the National Christmas Tree Railroad. This group of local trainics sets up and operated 12 loops of action-packed Large Scale trains under the President’s National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse in front of the White House. When our President lights the tree on December Thursday 6, our trains will be running underneath it. Plan a visit to President’s Park during the month of December to enjoy the National Tree, the 56 smaller trees from every state, the territories and DC. http://www.nps.gov/whho/national_christmas_tree.htm

The park is open from10 am to 10 pm. Attending in good wx is best. Night is beautify with the night sounds waifing in from the settling down city. Daytime some times the Man departs via helio right over head. To everytime is special. Parking nearby is easier in the evening. I work various shifts. If I know someone is visiting I can meet them there. Clem
