Egge pistons

I was ordering Egge pistons for my Burtz block after biting the bullet and convincing myself to pay the extra for them. Shipping is $110!!! I assume the cardboard box they come in is something really special.

While the Snyder's pistons are "not optimal" how not optimal are we talking here? Are they $300 not optimal?

Have you tried calling John Cosper, he sells 283 style pistons for the Burtz engine? They are made for standard Model A rods and piston pins. He has them in stock.............no waiting. His price is $300.00 a set which includes, four 283 style standard size pistons, four piston pins with snap rings, four ring sets and all shipping and handling charges. He can be reached at 505-440-1280.

I bought a set of Egges for a Burtz build last year for $264 shipped. Something doesn't sound right with that shipping. Looks like $39 ground shipping which is still a little steep but not $110+ unless you choose 2nd day or something.

Fed Ex ground is their lowest rate but the variables make the difference too. How heavy it is and how far it has to go are the variables.

Some outfits do wang customers on packaging as well. Some even add insurances for loss in shipping. It's been years since I ordered from Egge so I don't know if they have funky policies now. They used to be about like everyone else but these are different times.

I got my Egge pistons 2.5 years ago and they were $202 plus
$19 shipping. I'm in Southern California so not to far from Egge.

Seems responsible to me, not sure why you’re complaining about the shipping costs. Overnight shipping to Antarctica isn’t cheap!

Sarcasm aside, this complaint without details is useless. Where are you located? What shipping service and timeframe did you select? How many pistons did you order?

Fill us in with the details!

Just a standard set. It seems that their website is flaky and after redoing the order twice the shipping came down to $39, which is still high, but not crazy. It's a 10lb package by their estimates, and I ship the cheapest way possible. I don't need pistons for a 100 year old car overnight.

Good Evening...I would suggest that you call them and order over the phone...Usually works out better that way. Ernie in Arizona

$39 for 10ths without any other details doesn’t sound bad.

Again, making big assumptions. I assume you don’t live next door to them. What company is shipping them, what timeframe is promised for delivery?

Details, details.
