hi Guys which bolt to use for a slingshot intake?
i have seen different kit 1 use allen bolt 14 short and 2 long
another one with thick esagonal heads but they are all long the same 3/8-16x 1-1/2" which one i should use and buy ? no indication on Edelbrock home page unfortunately , the intake will be mounted on a 59A

I just used the regular Ford intake bolts, but do yourself a favor and check all of the bosses for clearance. Maybe Edlebrock fixed it, but I had a heck of a time due to the machining blocking the bolt heads.

Tim I have used several of the new ones and they have all been that way.

thanks for the tips i notice the bosses sharp and not machined well , are your bolt all same lenght? how long they are?
thanks

I have an original slingshot; I used the original Ford bolts to look like it was built way back then. I try and use thick headed original bolts everywhere on flatheads.

I'll need to check. Take my advice and knock those areas down with sanding rolls or other means. It is a real pain in the *** to deal with when trying to install.

You can "age" it after sanding by spraying it down with oven cleaner for 10-15 minutes. It will make it look like a nice used piece vs. a new one that had work done to it.

I used original bolts, except two holes required Allen bolts due to clearance issues. An original one I saw installed on a running car didn’t have any issues and used the original bolts in all holes.
