Eddie Meyer intake

Ok if I can just get a little feed back on this. Just going to install new 8ba flathead in my 53 merc Pick-up. Eab heads ,4" crank ,max 1 cam .030 over bore. Now is the Eddie Meyer two deuce intake a good chose . The trans is a T-5 with 392 rear gears. And what carbs will work best on the street? Thanks guy`s I would appreciate any ideas on this .

Never had one myself, but I built an engine for a guy who has one and he is happy with it. I would start the engine off with a single carb until it is broke in, then work out the 2 x 2 set up. As far as carbs, I prefer the Holleys, but you'll get a lot of argument for Strombergs.

Also the Load amatic distributor doesn't work well with dual carbs. The converted SBC is the most popular and reasonable in cost.

It will be under hood so that sounds like a good choice with lots of parts availability. Thanks for your reply.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading that the Edelbrock Super Dual had the edge on all other intakes. The Eddy Meyer sure looks cool though.

I was hoping someone who has run one of these might be able to give me some idea as to where to start for carb choise. As far as a street driver.

I have an original early Eddie Meyer intake on my 8BA in my 36 w/ Stromberg 97's, Max1 cam, T-5 w/ 3:55 gears and it runs great.

Thanks for the info that sounds good. Witch jets and power valve are you running?? Wow sure looks killer polished up. Awsome looking motor. Nothing looks better or sounds better than a sweet flathead.

Wow! What a car...you should change your name to SanitaryDan or SupercleanDan...I can't believe how intense that photo is....great work....Matt in Alameda

Thanks for the complements. I still have a few details to sort out, like running wires, filling the unused holes in the early intake etc... But for now I'm just enjoying it.
