Here is an amateur video we shot on the track at Charlotte. EFV8's were allowed 3 laps at the close of the concourse, and about 60 cars took advantage of it.

My son Jeff is driving our 36 Phaeton, and I'm in the passenger seat. We were cruising along a a nice speed, around 45 or so, and coming out of the fourth turn we were passed by a couple of 40 Fords and a wild 32 Hotrod who went sailing past us.

It was one of the highlights of the meet for us.

I'm new at this video/Youtube thing, hope the link works OK.

Thanks for the pics and the video. What happened to the 50 convertible that was stuck on the bank? I actually got my 49 up on the bank driving around the turns. I really wanted to go faster there but the pace car would not allow it. I think some just wanted to parade around and others wanted the real experience of a banked curve. I think the passing made it a little dangerous but it worked out well for everyone and that's what counts.

In 1990 the EFV8 Club Eastern National Meet was held at the speedway and we got to drive our cars on the track. I was driving our '53 Convertible behind the Pace Car, when I went up on the banked part of the track the oil pressure fell so I went back to the more level part. It was fun, we had a blast.

Thanks for the pictures & video! Well done! The first time around the track I rode about half way up the bank...but then I thought got down where I belonged! Pat

Randy, Thanks for posting your pictures. It was great meeting up with you and your wife at Concord and it was also great to get to see your nice '35 pu truck. There is a reflection of a '36 Roadster, on the side of my '35 fordor, that was one of the three cars I helped judge. We could not find anything wrong with that car. It was gorgeous. We also judged a maroon '36 Roadster that was equally gorgeous. I posted pictures of both of these cars on a previous post by Hotrod Willie. Cheers, JM

Now John, you know that you can't put NOS parts on the fordor !
Folks - that fordor is original - NOT restored ! Believe It Or Not !
