Read internet ...Disney Fantasy Cruise - Cruise ship hammered by Sandy on CNN ( internet ) !

Frederick is about a 3 hour drive east to ocean city, ocean city is about a half hour drive North to Delaware bay, Delaware bay is under the eye. We have been getting heavy rain for hours, about 2 inches so far winds are starting to get worse, expecting 75+ mph here, 90 mph in ocean city. Already lost businesses in O.C., boardwalk has been overtaken by storm surge, going to get worse by the hour....thanks for all the thoughts

Will add most local gas stations are out of gas, filled up all vehicles thismorning before the rush. Neighbor has three generators and a 275 gallon gas tank for the farm. Hopefully we'll have power, but may not be looking too good for not loosing power

Windy here just past noon. Not much rain this far east. Strong winds expected this evening. Power is still on. Major roads closed by the governor. VA hospital called to cancel my appointment. Kids called to say all is well so far.
As Charlie Bagley, the WTIC weatherman used to say:
"Whether the weather be cold,
or whether the weather be hot,
we'll whether the weather,
whatever the weather,
whether we like it or not!"

It is getting wet in NJ.

The main roads into islands are several feet under. They are having troubles getting people out of the islands that did not leave when they should have.

One tree is down across a neighbors property line. The winds are ramping up and we are expecting the center of Sandy to be over the house in the 7pm time frame.

My sister and brother in law own a marina in Anapolis. I'm praying they are ok. I live west of Cleveland, Ohio and they are saying we will get 60+mph winds and 20+ foot waves! This storm is UNREAL! I'm 400mi. from the coast!

Getting pretty windy here a little rain but windy.Got several big swamp maple trees with 4 big trunks sprouting out of them, too close to the house. Moved both vehicles out to the street but need the camper to stay in yard. Got toilet flushing problems again. Using the camper for a bathroom and have onboard gen if power goes out. Will come in handy if a tree dont fall on it.s.western ct. ken ct. [house has plumbing problems not camper]

just outside phila it's ramping up raining sideways and the wind is getting nasty. covered up the A as the rain is blowing through the garage door. the koi fish are getting seasick from the waves in the pond. i hope they stay and not end up in the backyard somewhere...
everyone stay safe dont mess with Mother Nature

I am in Jarrettsville in northern Maryland between Baltimore and York, PA. Measured 4" of rain at 4 PM, wind is picking up. We still have power. Have a generator and several gas cans gas, if I need more there is about 12 more gallons in the A's. Our daughter lives in North East Maryland, lost power about 3 PM. Just heard that the I-95 bridge over the Susquehanna River is closed. Chesapeake Bay Bridge has been closed.

Peters,
Thinkin' of you folks, glad you're on mountain. In S.E. Oklahoma, EVERYONE built their houses & barns on a hill or a knoll, not only for flood protection, but also to coast down to start the flivver when it's battery went KAPOOT! Bill W.

I live on plum island mass. I'm ready for the wind to die down so i can get outside and pick up my roof shingles. We are experiencing some nasty beach erosion on the dunes. Lights are flickering so power will be going off soon

Even 300 miles from the eye we are getting hit hard here in Massachusetts; lost power for a bit, 60-80 mph gusts:eek: an0ther 6-8 hrs before it all moves on

Survived it, only loss was 3 sections of fence due to the wind and a large limb on the corner. Not that much rain. Lost power about 10-12 times but only momentarily. Hoping that everyone else south of here made out OK.
