Early Aluminum Hoods

How did the finish hold up on the early Aluminum hoods compared to the finishes on the steel components of the body and fenders ?

Any source for photos of the aged finish on such hoods where the steel body finishes rusted cosiderably ?

I once had an aluminum hood and the old paint was stuck on tightly. Unfortunately my wife drove over it with a wide turn out of the driveway! the paint stayed on.

Here's a survivor 1915, the alum of the hood is peaking through tired paint, but so is the steel body sheet metal
