Hi Guys -

I have inspected my steering wheel on my early 33 today and its in a very
sad condition with a lot of cracks etc. around the hub.

As I understand a direct replacement aftermarket steering wheel is not available so,

Question is - what replacement steering wheel will fit my steering column ??
Pls. advice.

/Rgds. Jan

Buy yourself some J-B Weld or PC-7 grind out the cracks & repair it your self. Sand it down & paint with some rattle can appliance black epoxy paint. the one in the picture had chunks missing.

If it is just cracks and small pieces missing I would also repair it. I have also used jb weld with great results.

You my also want to check with Ray Helger's in RI, he may have and original used one. 401 635 4849. Also, Fred Wilner at So Side Obsolete.

Unless you are exceedingly lucky, without the right tools (an appropriate puller) it is usually difficult and can lead to damaging the wheel and/or the tapered and threaded top end of the steering shaft that the wheel attaches to.

I have pulled them with great success. I use a big bearing seperator from HF. It is a two piece thing that slides together. I put it under the wheel with a rag to cushion the load. I put a 3/8 bolt in the shaft and use a two jaw puller to remove the wheel. This mimics the correct Ford puller.
