Early 30s gas station

Hat's off to Randy in ca, or maybe fire hat's off for that blow up help with this thread. Love those vintage pics in general and especially Ford and auto in nature.

Here is a picture of a gas station on Independence Ave in Kansas City Missouri that my grandfather was part owner in. I'd guess the year to be the mid 20's. He's the young man pretending to be putting water in the radiator. Maybe someone can enlarge the picture. It is one of my most treasured.

mrTexas,
Here's what it looks like today. The current owners purchased it from your family in the 70's. It was still selling gas and groceries and they spoke of having to turn on the pumps when someone would pull in and the bell would ding.
New larger windows were installed but otherwise not much has changed.
The outdoor lift is still there; it's located under the motorhome parked on the right. Post Office is open Noon to 2 Monday through Saturday.

How it looks today - Early 30s gas station owned by mrtexas's Grandfather in Gold Creek, MT, western Montana, photo courtesy of Dick.

Grandpa moved into town and bought the country store in 1929. Built the larger building and house not pictured in 1937. Store also had a post office as it does now. Store open from 1929-1982.

This shot is in 1930 or 1931. Grandpa was a GM guy. Think this is a 30 or 31 chevy. My dad is the older one, 10 years old with his younger brother. I spent many summer vacations in Gold Creek as a boy from 1954-1964.

Dad's 37 Willys around 1940. I heard him talk about this car for his whole 98 years.
