Early 1930 dash question

Just bought car and the temp guage is mounted on the steering column and I want to move it under the dash via Snyder single gauge bracket A-11806AS. I am also looking at the steel dual cup holder A18120 and wanted to know if both would fit under the instrument panel.

Also my gas and spark rods are very corroded so I am looking to replace them. Are these hard to replace?

thanks

The single gauge bracket will fit just below the speedometer. You need to get the correct bracket depending on the shape of your speedometer -- round vs oval. The earlier '30's had an oval speedometer, the later ones were round. The gauge brackects are specific.

As to the cup holder, it should fit to the right of the dash panel, secured from the back side by one of the screws that hold the dash rail in place.

Someone else can chime in on the gas & spark rods.

In the back of the restorer is an add for a guy in California who makes the cup holders. They come for either closed or open car (they mount differently) You didn't say if your car is open or closed. Either way, to take out the old levers is a bit of a job when the steering column is mounted in the car. You will have to take the wheel off. At the bottom end of the levers is a little pin that slides thru the lever and holds the spring tight. Tap out that pin, and the lever will slide right out the top of the column. Putting the new levers in is the same in reverse but again, pretty hard to do with the column in the car. I would think even harder in a closed car if that's what you have.

This is the cup holder I have. It also has a couple of brackets for hanging things on that my wife uses all the time. He does ask what car type you have and sends the cup holder accordingly. Very nice quality, powder coated & ready to install.
