I found a tail light marked E&J model 25p. at least that is what I think it says? it is painted black and has a Ford script above the E&J marking. I believe it is Model T but am not positive. It is made of brass and painted black and has what is left of a very rusty mounting bracket bolted to the back of it. There is a window on the bottom of it for a license plate light lens also.

Can anyone tell me if indeed this is for a model T and if so what years, or what Ford car it is for?

Thanks!

You describe what seems to be the Ford p/n7669X, Electric tail lamp for the T.

The early ones, '19-'20 are found with painted round cup shaped brass shells, the ruby glass lens in front, and clear glass for license on the perimeter, a socket was placed to one side. Rear mounting bolt.

thanks! That sounds like exactly what I have. Are these lights in demand at all or do I have a nice paperweight?

Sure, you can sell these esp. to those who have 'brass-era' T's '10- '15, they like to keep the paint off the brass shell, polish the brass, and use these elec tail lamps for modern driving, but keeping with a period look. Some even fit brighter bulbs to use the lamp as a separate stop lamp. Value can be up to $25.
