Dropping my suspension

I have a 52 F1 which i am thinking of dropping the suspension on the front and rear. I have two questions. One is there any issues in performance doing this and secondly is there an easy low cost way to do this?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge

You can go the "mono-leaf" spring route or have your original springs de-arched at a spring shop or they can reverse the spring eyes.. You can also buy a dropped front axle for your pickup. If you are not hauling anything heavy in the pickup you can also remove some of the leafs from the rear spring.
All these methods would be cheaper than going with an independent front suspension.

You can cut or heat the coils at the front, its recommended to cut some length out instead of heat the coils, but with all modified suspension sometimes the ride qulity suffers. All this depends on how low you want to go?

when you drop the front end you will need to buy tie rod drops, if not the tie rods will hit the axle

Posies super slide springs will drop it about 2 inches front and rear. They also will give a ride with less squeaks. Made a big improvement in my ride.

Interesting dilemma. Many choices. On a '53 F100, I had a dropped axel in front and did the old trick of torching the rear springs. The result was spot on. I was able to pull a small travel trailer w/ no issues, whatsoever. Later went to stock springs and lowering blocks in the rear. Experienced no handling difference from the torched solution. Am staying 100% stock w/ the '51.
