Driving The Mercury

Warmed up to the high 20s here in Sask. on the weekend so it was an opportunity to shoot some drone video. I needed a moving target to test out the "follow me" mode on the drone and decided to try the Merc. It took 12 volts to wind it fast enough to fire up even in the shed. Covered the radiator to warm it up to normal and took a little drive. The drone followed along and shot some video.

Cool! I'm intrigued by the "follow me" mode on the drone. Tell us more about how that works.
I have not used it enough to know it all but I think most of the newer drones have the follow mode. Mine is an Autel Xstar premium. My nephew's new Phantom has it too. It is not too complicated once you push all the right buttons on the app. Set your distance and altitude, point the drone camera where you want it and start driving (or walking). The drone will follow and maintain the settings to keep you in view. Just don't forget to push the record button. :-)
I should have mentioned that the drone is actually following the remote control that I am carrying.

Thanks for the video, I really appreciate your videos, been folling them for quite awhile. Sounds like the Merc is running pretty good. Good look and take care,]

Ralph, neat video, what's the steel wheeled tractor out by the shed near the end?
That tractor is a 15-30 McCormick Deering that has been on this farm since 1973. They were one of the very popular tractors that farmed this country in the 1930s and 40s. Here is a closer view of it that I have probably posted here before.
Re: being co-ordinated enough to fly and drive, I'll just say I am not near as good as I used to be. 63 year old reflexes mean I have to just fly and drive a little slower to avoid getting into trouble.

Thats the 49 Mercury M68. Actually a 3/4 ton. It is sitting with various fluids soaking the cylinders in hopes it will eventually turn over. I need to get back to work on it.
