Well, most of you may know, about 7 months ago i passed my permit test and have been driving almost every day scince! And tomorrow, (Friday), is my drivers test! Im really excited! Hope I pass! Wish me luck everybody! :D

My advice would be to try and stay as calm as possible, think clearly,
and don't get distracted about anything, so you can stay focused
on driving confidently.

Good Luck, hope you do well. ;)

As commented above. Stay calm and good luck. Just think of the good times to come in your '49.

Don't forget Joshua 'Left arm extended straight out the driver's side window for a left turn. Left arm out the driver's side window and bent upward at the elbow forming a 90 degree angle for a right turn' lol You'll do just fine!

Good luck. You've received some excellent advice above. Remember, driving is a privilege we all enjoy. However, its not a right.

Take your test in the 49. If you can drive that you can drive anything. Plus he/she won't be able to mark you down for forgetting to wear your seat belt since they aren't required. LOL GOOD LUCK!

Don't know about where you live but where my kids took their test the parking test was done in a church parking lot with cones. LOL
I took my test in Downtown Detroit during early rush hour traffic. Things have changed in 40 years.
You will do great!

And the left arm pointing downward means slowing and stopping.
Good luck. Great to have young blood in the hobby.

The instructor would probably fail him because of the car if he used his 49. They would say its not safe for a young driver. My best advice is take your test in a small car. I took mine in a little 2 door saturn, pulled straight into the stall for parallel parking and didn't even have to back up.

Try to schedule your test last thing in the morning and the instructor will want to make it short so he can get to lunch.

A few years ago my young friend Jonathon Adams took his test in my restored 49 F-1. F-1 is equipped with seat belts and turn signals. Truck passed and so did Jonathon. The examiner got a big kick out of it too. Jonathon has turned out to be a real good Model T, A, and V-8 mechanic

Pay attention, stay alert and you'll do just fine...;) Don't be like me and get a traffic ticket the first day you have your license...

Good luck Joshua. Let us know how it goes. It was only 53 years ago that I took my drivers test in my Dad's 57 Chevy. In less than a year I was driving my 35 3w coupe.

Josh; Make a copy of this thread, all 20 and show it to the examiner, and tell about the friends you have and there support, with your "OLD" car and we all wish you good luck. ..... OLD....BILL
