****** drips

just filled rear end, ******, engine, and steering gear with fluids in a '32 hot rod project and after two days the '39 ****** is still dripping...betweeen the ****** and 8ba bellhousing...i assume the mistake i made is not sealing the front of the countergear shaft where it punches thru the ****** case. Dang its a bunch of work to pull the radiator and engine to get to the ******....any ****** sealing tricks either an additive to 'cheat'; or modification to ****** case if i pull it?

Clean off the ****** and put on some automotive "GOOP". This sealer/glue works on almost anything and stays flexible enough so no worry of cracking. I used it to seal a battery that leaked and an oil dipstick tube that leaked. The countershaft does not turn so it is a prime candidate.

Almost all of the hardware and auto stores im the midwest sell a product called "Goop". In hardware stores they sell variations called Plumbers Goop, Bathtub Goop or Automotive Goop. From the package ingredients and the products, I can see no differences. It looks and smells like a clear RTV but seems to have more adhesion than RTV.
